Online News Outlets Behold: Google Unveils its News Publisher Center
Recently, Google has developed and released a program to streamline the publishing process for online news sites. It’s called, simply enough, the Google News Publisher Center. It’s a fantastic tool that will make managing news updates on Google News easier than ever before.
There are two simple requirements for qualification and indexation on the search engine. 1) Your news website must be verified by Google Webmaster Tools, and 2) the site must already be included in Google News.
Not sure how to get into Google News? The search engine giant tells you how right here.
The new platform features three remarkable usability updates news publishers will love.
- Define yourself. Easily label your site/source with relevant tags (“Blog,” “Opinion Content,” “Press Release,” “Satire,” etc.).
- Build out. Section URLs can now be updated without fuss. If there’s a new column you’d like to add, go ahead and update the URL right in the Publishing Center.
- Stay Relevant. Choose specific categories for posts/sections and label them with related tags (“Arts,” “Business,” “Education,” “Politics,” and so on).
The minimalist dashboard is quite easy to use, but if you need a little extra help, find some Google support.
